Problem

Due to hefty growth, scheduling with Excel was too time-consuming and inefficient and communicating with recipients about delivery time was not possible.

Target

Keeping direction and overview of the schedule in a simple way and being able to deliver more efficiently.

Result

Fast scheduling, fine integration with other systems, more efficient delivery and communication with your recipients about the delivery time.

AVH Outdoor sells garden furniture - from ottomans to lounge sets - throughout the country. Whereas until two years ago the company was run by six men and women, today there are no fewer than forty employees. 'We've been working hard,' says Jasper van der Linden, manager of online marketing. 'That has resulted in considerable growth, which we see reflected not only in the number of employees but also in the number of buses we have on the road.'

No more workable solution for AVH outdoor

'We started over five years ago with one modest van with which we delivered our furniture, and that number grew slowly. From the beginning we did the planning in Excel. That went fine, until at one point we were driving around with seven buses, at which point Excel no longer really offered a workable solution. Planning the routes became far too time-consuming.'

It just felt right

'We went looking for a stable route planning system. The requirement was that it could be integrated with our Lightspeed web shop software. RoutiGo's planning software can do that. In addition, it just felt right. They are a modern company, their website looks good and sleek, and their message is clear. In short, RoutiGo really stood out for us. We then invited them for an interview and the rest is history.

Just like APPIE

The fact that the RoutiGo software integrates well with Lightspeed is of course nice, but Jasper sees more advantages for AVH Outdoor: 'It actually works just like Appie, if something goes wrong along the way, or the delivery guy is delayed by an hour for some other reason, then the customer will be notified. Of course it's annoying that their furniture will be delivered a little later, but if that's the case, it's better to know than when you're waiting.'

New construction districts

Of course, a supplier of garden furniture often delivers to new housing estates. That's why the integration with Google Maps is very nice for us. That is simply the system that issues updates the fastest. Other systems often lag behind, so entire neighborhoods are still unknown. And RoutiGo's smart planning is very efficient. In the past it was quite common to have three cars driving around in the same neighborhood. That can happen once, but it's a shame. Now it only happens if - for whatever reason - we consciously choose to do that.'

Smooth implementation

Starting in March, the busy period begins at AVH Outdoor. 'From then on, no new software systems will be integrated. If something goes wrong then, the misery is incalculable. We therefore started using RoutiGo in the quieter period so that we could test at our leisure. The implementation went well and as of March we are fully operational. What we have experienced so far is very promising and I am convinced that we are going to save a lot of time.
